“Gem of Shang” opened to the public in Xuzhou Museum on March 3rd, 2015. Nearly a hundred of “national treasures” of Shang Dynasty reappeared us the glorious and mysterious Shang Dynasty. Shang Dynasty was a Bronze Civilization with the vast territory, the palatial capital and the unprecedented developed politics, economy, military, culture, science and technology.
All the exhibits were provided by Anyang Workstation of the Institute of Archaeology of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Almost 90 pieces (or sets) of Yin Xu were on display. Including intact and clear oracular shells and bones; prefect and gorgeous bronze sacrificial vessels; excelsior and psychic primitive jade; precious pottery wares,weapons, chariots and harnesses. All these articles represented the unique charm of Shang Culture about 3000 years ago. Thus old Chinese characters, bronze civilization of China and etiquette culture all have a same origin. As a result, Shang Culture is the extension to remote ages for ancient city Xuzhou which is famous for Two Han Dynasties Culture. In addition, in the bronze area, you can see the full-scale replica of “Houmuwu Ding” which is the biggest bronze ware in the world.
This exhibition continued until May 25th, and all the visitors who like history are welcome.
