In memory of the 70 anniversary of the victory of Anti-Japanese War of Chinese people and the war of world anti-fascist, the “Mark of Iron Army” opened from July 7th to August 10th, 2015 in Xuzhou Museum, which was sponsored by Jiangsu Province Bureau of Cultural Relics, Yancheng Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, TV, Film, Press and publication and New Fourth Army Memorial.

       On July 7th, 1937, Japanese troops provoked the Lugouqiao Incident nearby Peiping. This is the symbol of the comprehensive outbreak of the Sino-Japanese war. Chinese people achieved the final victory in anti-Japanese war after eight years of hard struggle until the day that Japan announced the unconditional surrender, on August 15th 1945, Jiangsu, as the main battlefield of anti-Japanese war in Central China, was one of the main active areas of the New Fourth Army who were leaded by the Communist Party of China. The New Fourth Army and the Jiangsu people fought side by side, and made an important contribution to the final victory of the war.

       This exhibition was set on the history of the resistance of the New Fourth Army, including 5 parts. They were “The Outbreak”, “The Eastern Marching”, “Galloping on Jianghuai Plain”, “The Counter-offensive”, “Recapturing our land”. This exhibition revealed the fighting process of the New Fourth Army in Jiangsu, the fish-to-water relation between people in Jiangsu and New Fourth Army and the iron army spirit of New Fourth Army by exhibiting the precious articles, true photos and excellent stories.

       Xuzhou Museum will promote a serial activities according to this exhibition and the theme of the first memorial day of the victory of anti-Japanese war, and the theme is that remembering the history, cherishing the martyrs, embracing peace and creating the future.The aim is to encouraging Chinese people to strives for the realization of great renaissance of China.
