Preface

      On the eve of the Spring Festival, "special exhibition of works collected by Xuzhou Academy of painting and calligraphy" was held in the museum.

      In the exhibition, some works collected by the academy and new works collected by in-service calligraphers and painters are exhibited. Its significance: first, to enrich the cultural life of the citizens; second, to "air" the art level of the collections in the Academy. Through the exhibition, listen to the opinions of all sessions of the society, in order to achieve the purpose of continuously improving the quality of works collected by the Academy.

      Through "airing" the works collected by the Academy, the exhibition combs the creation vein of the famous calligraphers and painters, records their creation and development process, and studies the spiritual demands and artistic aims of the calligraphers and painters in the real situation. This will play a positive role in improving the art level of calligraphers and painters, expanding the construction pattern of the Academy, building the "painting and calligraphy Xuzhou" and cultivating the regional painting school.

Different from the collection exhibition, there is still a process from the collection sublimation to the "important, precious and classic" collection works. Xuzhou Academy of painting and calligraphy is committed to the cultivation of the fine consciousness of "profound thought, exquisite craftsmanship and excellent production". I believe that through this exhibition, we can create a good beginning for the collection of classics, gradually form a new situation of learning classics, inheriting classics, creating classics, and making new contributions to the great rejuvenation of Chinese culture.
