From the first day to the sixth day of the lunar year in 2018, more than 32,000 visitors were received in Xuzhou Museum. In order to provide better services in the festive atmosphere, on the eve of Spring Festival, Xuzhou Museum released the guidance to public use and the notice to exhibition activities during the Spring Festival on the Internet and WeChat platform. The exhibition halls, the square, and the Temporary Imperial Palace of Qianlong Emperor were decorated with lanterns and streamers in greeting the Chinese New Year. All the interpreters wore red scarves to greet visitors home and abroad. To receive such a large number of visitors, security work, reception, sanitation and electric facilities were laid out before the Chinese New Year, and "Emergency Diversion Plan for Temporary Exhibitions" was issued.
During the festival, "The Prehistoric Imprint: Popular Science Exhibition of Paleontological Fossils to the East of Liao River" attracted crowds of visitors, and so did the special exhibition series and the community education series with the theme of "spending the Chinese New Year in the museum". The museum staff performed their duties in earnest so that everything should work smoothly.

In addition, Xuzhou Museum printed and distributed brochures titled "How to Visit the Museum?" and "Conventions on Civilized Behaviors for Citizens' Domestic Travel" to the visitors. They used a large LED screen to promote civilized tourism behaviors, and organized volunteers to give visitors the guidance on civilized visit and tourism.
