The theme of this year's International Museum Day is “Museums for Equality: Diversity and Inclusion, which reflects the new thinking and understanding of the museum's position and function. From May 17 to 19, Xuzhou Museum launched a series of online and offline activities and publicity activities to attract the public to participate.

“Friends of Xuzhou Museum”Public Archaeological Activity
On the morning of May 18, "Friends of Xuzhou Museum" invited 15 visitors to Tushan No.2 Tomb and Geng Jianjun, director of Archaeology Department of Xuzhou Museum, made an explanation for them. The visitors had a close look at the excavation work of the archaeological team to understand the scene of the archaeological work, which uncovers the veil of the archaeological work. The excavation of Tushan Han tombs has entered the most critical stage. Through some unearthed cultural relics and sites, the structure of the tomb and identity information of the tomb owner are gradually revealed and become more clear. Through Geng's explanation, the visitors learned about the rigorousness and scientific norms of the work and the latest findings of archaeological excavations.
Curators and Experts Guided Tours
In the afternoon of May 17, Yuan Feng, deputy director of Xuzhou Museum, guided the audience to appreciate the long history of Xuzhou for 5,000 years, and told the details of the development process of Xuzhou from the Neolithic Age to the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
In the afternoon of May 18, deputy curator Liu Zhaojian led the audience to understand how Xuzhou Museum exhibits the political, economic, cultural and military strength of the royal family of the State of Chu in the Han Dynasty and the far-reaching influence of Xuzhou Han culture.
(3) The Cultural Heritage Conservation Science Laboratory Opened by Appointment
In the afternoon of May 18th, Zhao Xiaowei, director of Xuzhou Cultural Heritage Conservation Science and Technology Center, led the reserved audience to visit the newly built heritage conservation science laboratory. This activity takes the daily work of cultural relics protection as the entry point, guides the public to visit the process of cultural relics restoration and feels the daily work of cultural relics restorers closely. The activity introduces the related applications of relic restoration, X-ray fluorescence spectrometer, color measuring instrument, hyperdepth microscope, chemical laboratory and so on. Participants will be informed of the situation at the time of excavation and the process of restoration, so as to enhance their understanding of the restoration work and stimulate public awareness of heritage conservation
Appreciation of "Treasure at Home" Culture and Art works
On May 18, experts from Xuzhou Museum and Xuzhou Collectors' Association provided voluntary consultation for the lovers of cultural relics collection, and carried out appreciation and collection knowledge popularization of bronzes, coins, ceramics, calligraphy and painting, enamel and other works of art.
"National Tide, Han Culture, Xuzhou Museum Night" -- a Special Event for The International Museum Day on May 18, 2020
On the evening of May 18, "National Tide, Han Culture, Xuzhou Museum Night" -- the special activity of International Museum Day on May 18, 2020 was held in the leisure courtyard of Xuzhou Museum, displaying such wonderful contents as Han music, Han rites, Han costume and Han dance. In the performance, 7 robots danced in a Han dynasty style according to the set program. This is a new product for young people jointly developed by Xuzhou Museum and Xuzhou MuniuLiuma Robot Technology Co., LTD. The new combination of culture and technology has made audiences hold up their phones to take pictures.
