Work Report of Xuzhou Museum in 2016

Since the beginning of this year, under the correct leadership of the party committee of the bureau, according to the work deployment and requirements at the beginning of the year, combined with the actual situation, it has reasonably dispatched and coordinated arrangements, and has successfully completed its annual work tasks. The 2016 work report is as follows:

I. Archaeological work

(I) Field investigation and excavation

1. Investigate the project of the new generator set occupied by Peixian Yongtai Power Plant. The field survey area is more than 200 acres, the key drilling area is 10,000 square meters, and no cultural layer and other relics are found in the area.

2. Key excavations this year: Zifangshan Han Tombs, Jiawang Tulongshan to Xiaohongshan Cemetery, Tushan No. 2 Han Tomb, Jiaxian Gate Cemetery in Feng County in the late Ming Dynasty, Xinghua Hanzhen Cemetery, etc. There are 4 sites including Huayao Nancun Ruins, Gupeng Square Subway Station Underground City Ruins, Huilongwo Ancient City Wall Ruins, and Xinyi Niedun Ruins.

3. Jointly excavated three sites and tombs, including the Xinyi Diaotai site, the Xijin cemetery of the Pizhou Jianyao Temple, and the Xipi Town of Suining, together with the Nanjing Museum, Pizhou Museum and Suining County Museum.

(II) The relocation of the old warehouse of the Archaeology Department was completed, and more than 2000 pieces (groups) of various cultural relics were cleared, transported and transferred.

(III) The backlog of archaeological data is being organized in an orderly way. Up to now, the projects that have been basically completed are: the excavation briefing of the Jiawangfushan tomb group, the excavation briefing of the Wanzhai Han tomb, the briefing of the Dongwangzhuang Han tomb, the excavation report of the Ming Dynasty cemetery at Longtou Mountain in Suining , Briefing on the cleanup of Han tombs in Pizhou Port, etc.

II. the preservation and preservation of cultural relics

(I) The first survey of movable cultural relics. Completed the proofreading and revision of the city ’s first mobile cultural relics census, and submitted it to the National Census Office, which successfully passed the review. It is the first prefecture-level city in Jiangsu Province to pass the audit of the National Census Office.

Cooperate with the Municipal Bureau of Cultural Relics to complete the compilation of the first mobile cultural relics census results, census work report, and census directory of Xuzhou City, and publish it; assist the provincial cultural relics experts to identify the suspected cultural relics in the city and our library.

(II) Warehouse management. Improve and supplement 6,700 collection catalog cards; supplement and standardize 1062 copies of paper collection archive information; complete the work of electronic archives of precious cultural relics. Complete the handover of 1,224 cultural relics in the Lion Mountain Library. In 2016, a total of 163 collections (sets) were collected, including 3 collections and 8 donations.

(III) Preparations for the curation and application of five overseas exhibitions in 2017 to the American Metropolis, the New York Huamei Association, Nelson Atkin, the San Francisco Asian Art Museum, and the Berlin National Museum in Germany.

(IV) Cooperate with the excavation report team of Chu King Mausoleum of Lion Mountain in the year, and collect more than 2000 cultural relics.

III. undertook the 2016 annual meeting of Jiangsu Provincial Museum Society

On November 4-5, the 2016 Annual Membership Congress of the Jiangsu Provincial Museum Society was held in Xuzhou. The conference was undertaken by the Xuzhou Museum. Gong Liang, deputy director of the Provincial Department of Culture, chairman of the Provincial Museum Society, president of Nanjing Museum, and Li Yan, deputy mayor of Xuzhou City, attended the meeting. More than 160 people including museum directors and experts from provincial and municipal cities (counties) attended the annual meeting. At the meeting, Gong Liang made a keynote speech on behalf of the Institute. IV. Cultural relics protection and restoration

(I) Successfully restored and restored the jade lacquered coffin excavated from M2 of the Han Tomb in Xuyi Dayun Mountain, and delivered it to Nanjing Museum as an important exhibit and participated in the "Pharaoh Wang-Ancient Egyptian Civilization and Han Civilization Exhibition".

(II) Painted pottery figurine protection project unearthed from the Tomb of King Chu of Beidong Mountain. Carry out surveys, records, and preliminary cleaning of painted pottery figurines, and sort out all the remaining pieces of pottery figurines. Basic protection of 40 pottery figurines has been completed this year.

(III) For the restoration of cultural relics in the collection, more than 200 pieces of pottery and pottery in the collection are protected and restored.

(IV) Protection of cultural relics at the archaeological site. 1. Cooperate with the archaeological excavation of Han Tombs of Zifang Mountain, Han Tombs of Dongwangzhuang, and Han Tombs of Xinyao Wayao to carry out the work of fragile cultural relics collection; 2. Cooperate with the reconstruction project of Huilongwo historical and cultural blocks in Xuzhou City, complete the reorganization of the Ming City Wall Brick Site Migration protection work.

(V) Completion of three cultural relics protection projects in Huai'an District, Lianshui County and Suining County. 1. The project of cleaning and sealing the inscriptions on the Huashan Caotang in Huai'an District, the installation of non-reflective glass protective cover, the project was successfully completed; 2. Preparation of the protection and restoration plan for the bronze and diamond statues in the Lianshui County Museum, and completion of the three-level cultural relic protection and restoration work; 3. Complete the protection and restoration of 123 cultural relics entrusted by Suining County Museum.

(VI) Start the preventive protection project of cultural relics in the collection. At present, government procurement work has been completed on the "Relics Preservation Environmental Monitoring System", "Relics Box Manufacturing Equipment" and other related contents.

V. Free and open work

Over 500,000 visitors are received annually, including 150,000 student groups, more than 3,100 explanations, more than 450 explanations for audiences, and more than 60 explanations in English. Throughout the year, "Gu Peng Xun Xun" youth education series lectures and activities and more than 10 popular science lectures were held. More than 2510 pieces (sets) of various works of art have been identified for citizens. At present, Xuzhou Museum has become a unit of moral education co-construction with 10 colleges and 24 educational organizations; it has held 12 lectures on "College Students Entering the Museum".

Important receptions included Wan Exiang, vice chairman of the National People's Congress, Liu Yuzhu, director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, and Tian Shubin, chairman of Xinhuanet.

Completed Deng Yongqing Painting and Calligraphy Museum exhibition and exhibition upgrading project. Twelve public welfare exhibitions were held. The collection contains 89 sets (120 pieces) of jade unearthed from the tombs of Kings of Western Han Chu and Hou Noble.

VI. Book informatization work

(I) Library and information work. This year, 172 books were collected and edited, 92 books donated by Wang Shimin were accepted, and 58 books were transferred. Revise and implement "Xuzhou Museum Book Management System".

(II) Informatization work. Completed the revision of Xuzhou Museum's official website (including mobile version website), including both Chinese and English versions; the annual Wechat platform pushed more than 100 pieces of information, and important information was published on the website and Wechat platform simultaneously; preparation of Tushan Han Tomb, Qianlong Palace, and administration, the wireless Wifi coverage plan of the office area and the storage area of the collection department has recently been organized; the project plan for the "Digital Protection of Xuzhou Museum Fine Cultural Relics" and the "Smart Xuzhou Museum" project has been revised and improved.

VII. Cultural Industry work

1. Hold the first cultural and creative product design competition in Xuzhou. On May 18, the first Xuzhou Cultural and Creative Product Design Contest, organized by the Xuzhou Museum, was launched. A total of 536 works were collected. After expert review, a total of 19 works were awarded, of which the first prize was vacant and the third prize was 3, 6 third prizes and 10 excellent prizes. During the same period, the emblem of the Xuzhou Museum was collected from the society, and a total of 93 works were received, 2 of which were shortlisted.
