Recently, Xuzhou museum welcomed a special audience. They are the students with intellectual disabilities from the Quanshan special education center. Xuzhou museum volunteer service team planned a special cultural tour for them, hoping to enlighten them with our traditional culture.
Under the guidance of the volunteers, the students first visited cultural relics of Han dynasty. In order to arouse their interest, the volunteers planned the tour route according to their characteristics and used simple words to communicate and interact with them, which made the students curious about everything in front of them. Later, volunteers from Jiangsu Normal University's Yunze handicraft association also taught the students to make clay models. Seeing the models of clay figures of the Han dynasty coming out, the students clapped and smiled happily all the time.
After the event, teachers at the Quanshan special education center said that such activities are meaningful, not only to enrich the lives of disabled students, but also to help them better integrate into the society. Xuzhou museum volunteer service team has been committed to caring for the disadvantaged groups, and will continue to send traditional cultural education to the campus of the special education center in the future to bring more warmth and hope to disabled students. Meanwhile, it will further promote the spirit of youth volunteers and arouse the public's attention to the disadvantaged groups.
