Dong Qichang (1555—1636) styled himself Xuanzai with his pseudonym Sibai. He was born in Huating (Songjiang of Shanghai in today). He was the first of the four great calligraphers in the late-Ming Dynasty. He was skillful in appreciation and good at calligraphy and painting. This scroll is majestic in form and delicate in lines, plump of ink.
