Lan Ying (1585- ), whose courtesy name was Tianshu and pseudonym was Diesou, was native of Qiantang (today's Hangzhou, Zhejiang). He named himself Dongguo Laonong in his youth, and had the pseudonym of Shitoutuo in his late years. He learnt landscape painting from Huang Gongwang's technique, and was engaged in painting of landscapes, birds and flowers, and figures. He was a master in martial arts circles. This painting represents the depiction of high mountains like lotus leaves, with quaint color design.
