Wang Jiazhen (dates of birth and death unknown), whose courtesy name was Biren or Shuxiang, and another give name was Kui, was native of Min County, Anhui. As a painter of Xin'an Painting School, he was adept at paintings of landscapes, figures, birds and flowers, and grass and insects. The album collects twelve frames of Wang's landscape sketches and five frames of running scripts, which represent the artist's high techniques in brush ink. His works reflect big things through small ones. The flow of ink integrates artistic conceptions - vigorous, elegant, vast, or misty. Among them,The Painting of Aerial Ladder depicts the delicate beauty of Mount Huang with gentle brush ink, which inherits the essence of Mei Qushan (Qing Dynasty).
