Gao Fenghan (1683-1748), whose courtesy name was Xiyuan, and pseudonym was Nancun or Nanfu, was native of Jiaozhou (today's Jiaozhou, Shandong). He was adept at poetry, calligraphy, painting and seal carving. In his later years, he created with left hand, giving a more fantastic style. According to its inscription, this painting was created in 1732. It is Gao's masterpiece in his old age.
